Project 3: Wood

This project asked me to create a 3-Dimensional connected piece made up of 5 units of the same shape, but descending in size. I chose to create this piece because it allowed me to keep exploring angles as I set out to do- but also allowed me to incorporate movement into the design. By connecting my units with a dowel rod, the viewer is able to rotate each ‘X’ form to their liking, as well as slide them back and forth on the bar. This felt like the perfect way to round out my final semester at IU- because I was able to combine all of the knowledge I gathered from 3D art so far.
